Campaign Story

Lacee and Howie have been trying to grow their family for almost 6 years! Ever since her childhood, she has always dreamed of being a mother. Her journey has been full of twists, turns, and heartbreak, moments of doubt and moments of steadfast resolve, with the realities of childbirth once leading her to question her dream of being a mom. As time has gone by she found herself longing even more to be a mother.

Embarking on this journey filled them with joy and anticipation, a warm embrace of life’s beautiful uncertainty. From an early age, she had been diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), a diagnosis that was confirmed later in life. They knew it could complicate things, but they held onto hope and belief.

Their journey has seen them endure numerous tests, consultations with various doctors, and an assortment of treatments. They’ve braved everything together, from non-medicated and medicated cycles, fertility injections, to six IUIs and procedures. They’ve made significant lifestyle changes, even switching fertility clinics and are prepping for a surgery scheduled in July 2023. Recent findings revealed that in addition to PCOS, she also has Endometriosis. Their journey has been long, arduous, and significantly more challenging than they ever anticipated.

In the six to seven years they’ve been together, you might think that simply not preventing would have resulted in pregnancy, but unfortunately, this was not their reality. Their first IUI resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Their new doctor has suggested IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) as the optimal next step. However, they have learned that IVF is a substantial financial commitment, one their insurance does not cover, leaving them in an unusual position – one where they are reaching out for assistance.

Typically, they’re not ones to ask for help, particularly when it involves finances. But this journey has shown them that it’s okay to ask for help sometimes. If you’re in a position to offer any support, they would be deeply grateful. If not, merely sharing their story can make a significant difference. They understand that everyone has their battles and they don’t want anyone to feel obligated.

They appreciate your time in reading their story and any support you can provide, even if it’s merely keeping them in your thoughts and prayers. They extend their gratitude more than words can express.
